Get started with your nametag project by downloading the starter template STL file.

Template File

The template file contains the base shape you’ll need to follow along with the Simple Nametag guide. This file is designed to be imported into TinkerCAD and serves as the foundation for your personalized nametag.

Make sure to save this file to your Downloads folder before starting the tutorial!

What’s Next?

Once you’ve downloaded the template:

1. Import into TinkerCAD: Open TinkerCAD and import the downloaded STL file
2. Follow the guide: Use our Simple Nametag guide to customize your design
3. Get it printed: Ask a helper to export your final design for 3D printing

Note

The template file is approximately 2mm thick and designed to be 40mm × 16mm in size. You’ll resize it during the tutorial to match the specifications.

Troubleshooting

If you’re having trouble downloading the file:

• Make sure your browser allows downloads
• Check that the file isn’t being blocked by your antivirus software
• Try right-clicking the download button and selecting “Save link as…”
